Ponta Grande Villa 21 Albufeira with Pool

Our recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was filled with both ups and downs, starting with our accommodations. While the majority of the resort had its merits, we couldn't overlook the condition of the downstairs bathroom. It presented a rather unclean appearance, with rust in the shower and an unpleasant, muggy smell that made us decide to avoid using it altogether unless absolutely necessary. This was a significant downside, as it impacted our overall comfort during our stay. However, we made the most of the situation by utilizing the upstairs bathrooms, which were notably clean and better maintained.

On the brighter side, the staff at the resort were incredibly wonderful, contributing positively to our experience. We loved the beautiful, clean pool that was still open during our visit in the first week of October. Our rooms were lovely, and we appreciated the ample supply of towels provided. One highlight of our stay was definitely the spacious patio outside our living room door. It became our morning retreat, with the large umbrella offering welcome shade as we enjoyed quiet moments with coffee. The warm afternoons allowed our laundry to dry quickly, making practical use of the sunny weather.

In addition to the pleasant accommodations, we were impressed by the on-site restaurant that served delicious food, making dining convenient during our stay. The resort grounds were beautifully maintained, adding to the aesthetics of our getaway. While it is somewhat distant from other attractions in the Algarve, having a rental car was a fortunate advantage for us, allowing easy access to beaches and nearby sights. Despite the initial bathroom issues, I would definitely consider returning to this resort, as the friendly staff, gorgeous pool, and lovely rooms made for an overall enjoyable vacation.
