Our trip to Albufeira took a nightmarish turn when we checked into what can only be described as a "Hotel from Hell." Initially, we were optimistic about our girls' holiday, believing the reasonable pricing reflected a charming stay. However, our excitement quickly dwindled when we were shuffled through three different rooms, each more disappointing than the last. The state of the first room was shocking; it was outdated and bore no resemblance to the alluring pictures we had seen online. In our new abode, we discovered the floors and walls were not only filthy but appeared to be rotting. To our horror, we found a razor behind the toilet, a clear indication that cleanliness was not a priority in this establishment. The situation grew direr as we realized our bedroom windows were completely unsecure, and deliberate neglect had left the pool in a state of disrepair.

Things took an even darker turn during our stay. After a seemingly innocent afternoon nap, I awoke to the sight of two male cleaners rifling through our kitchen area, having entered without warning using their own key. Panic set in as we realized just how unsafe we were in this establishment. Our last night was the culmination of our terrors, when unsettling noises erupted outside our door, seemingly from men shouting and banging on doors. Frantically trying to reach reception for help proved futile, as the staff's inability to grasp our pleas only intensified our fear. Feeling trapped and alarmed, we opted to escape the premises in the early hours of the morning, leaving long before our flight and vowing never to return. Albufeira holds many treasures, but this hotel was definitely not one of them—do yourself a favor and steer clear!
