Our recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was a mixed bag of experiences. Initially, we found ourselves in a four-story home just up the street, which turned out to be uncomfortable and impractical for our needs. Thankfully, we reached out to Casa Alzira, and to our relief, they were able to accommodate us immediately. The new place offered a much-needed reprieve, allowing us to enjoy our vacation despite the initial hiccup. The location was undeniably strategic, putting us right in the midst of the bustling nightlife that Albufeira is famous for. However, the proximity to the action came at a cost—the noise was relentless on Saturday night, echoing through the streets until 4 AM, making sleep nearly impossible.

While the location had its perks, the accommodations left much to be desired. The kitchen was almost unusable, with minimal counter space and just one electric outlet, which made it a challenge to prepare even the simplest meals like toast and coffee at the same time. The bathroom was cramped, and turning around without bumping into something was a challenge. The view from our living space was disappointing, offering nothing more than the street below or our neighbor’s terrace. However, the living room did provide a comfortable space to unwind, equipped with a basic TV. I was grateful for the Google Chromecast adapter I brought, which allowed me to access streaming services during our downtime. All in all, while it may be ideal for younger party-goers seeking a vibrant nightlife experience, the setup may not be the best fit for those looking for a more tranquil getaway.
