Buda House By Ethnic Ocean Albufeira

My recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was a delightful mix of beautiful outdoor spaces and functional amenities, although it did come with a few quirks. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the outdoor area, which featured a stunning pool surrounded by lush gardens. This space was perfect for relaxation, as plenty of shade was available for those hot days, and the grassy areas provided a safe place for my little ones to play. Additionally, the complex had a small playground that was a fantastic bonus for families. The friendly hosts were always on hand to assist with any queries or needs we had, adding a personal touch that made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

However, a couple of aspects were less than ideal during our time in Albufeira. The kitchen and bathrooms were somewhat dated, but they remained functional for our needs. Despite this, I did find myself wishing for more kitchen utensils, such as additional chopping boards and graters, to make meal preparation more efficient. Moreover, the walk to the beach and Albufeira’s charming town required navigating some steep hills, which could be challenging, although I found that it was manageable even with a pushchair. There was also the somewhat surprising cost of hiring an IKEA highchair for the week at €30 when it could be purchased for less, which felt a bit excessive.

On a positive note, the convenience of our location was a significant advantage, as it was just a short 10-minute drive or an Uber ride to the nearest Lidl or Aldi supermarket. This made grocery shopping easy, especially since our accommodation featured two large fridges, allowing us to stock up for the week. This combination of outdoor beauty and practical living conditions made for a lovely trip overall. Despite a few drawbacks, the experience allowed us to create lasting memories in a beautiful part of the world.
