Impressions
Our recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was a mixed bag of experiences. While the property we stayed in was undeniably beautiful and well-equipped, our access to the pool area turned out to be a significant challenge that overshadowed our enjoyment. On arrival, we were given wristbands required for scanning into the pool, which is essential for us as my daughter has a skin condition that prevents her from going to the beach. As a family of six, we only received four bands due to previous guests losing the other two, leaving us unable to enjoy the pool together as a family. This situation not only hindered our ability to relax and enjoy our time by the water but also prompted several disagreements among family members as we tried to navigate the pool access issues.
Despite the disappointing pool access, the property itself was a highlight of our trip. With its clean, well-furnished spaces, we felt right at home in our temporary abode. The layout was spacious enough for our family, and the amenities provided everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Cooking meals together in the kitchen and enjoying family evenings in the living area was a joyful experience, and the welcoming atmosphere of the property provided a much-needed sanctuary after our pool frustrations. However, the comfort of the home did not completely compensate for the strained moments around the pool area.
In the end, while the property was lovely and clean, the access complications proved to be an ongoing distraction throughout our nine-day holiday. Even though the owners were proactive in ordering two additional bands, their arrival did not coincide with our stay, leaving us feeling let down. This oversight overshadowed some of the enjoyment we could have had during our trip. It served as a reminder of how essential clear information and preparation are for family vacations, especially when accommodating specific needs. Despite the setbacks, we tried to make the most of our time in Albufeira, taking in the beautiful surroundings and cherishing the moments we could spend together as a family.
