My recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was a delightful getaway marked by comfort and natural beauty, though not without a few minor hiccups. I stayed in a clean and cozy apartment with lovely grounds that boasted a sparkling pool area—complete with new sunbeds that invited relaxation. The gardens were a treasure, filled with vibrant oranges, lemons, bananas, and hibiscus, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying the soothing sounds of birds drawn to the luscious fruit trees. While the apartment was mostly well-appointed with crisp white bedding and an ample supply of towels, I did find that some outdoor furniture and the children's play area showed signs of wear that slightly tarnished the otherwise pristine environment.

Despite the overall enjoyment, a few small issues kept my experience from reaching five-star status. The kitchen could have benefited from a few more essentials, such as a sharp knife and spatula; the fry pan also needed replacing. Additionally, the housekeeping schedule was a bit erratic—cleaning occurred shortly after my arrival and then not again until days later. While it was fine not to have daily service, I felt that if the interval stretched longer than a day or two, it would have been helpful to provide extra waste bags, especially given the request not to flush toilet paper. Nevertheless, the unseasonably chilly weather made the heating in the apartment particularly appreciated, and I would still enthusiastically recommend Albufeira for its charm and inviting surroundings.
