Albufeira Oura Beach V4 Villa Marisa With Private Pool

Our recent trip to Albufeira, Portugal, was a mixed bag of experiences. While we were excited about our stay, certain aspects of the villa left much to be desired. Although we paid for a ninth bed, it was so inadequate that it wouldn't be suitable for a five-year-old. Furthermore, many of the villa's facilities felt tired and worn out. We encountered dirty sunlounger covers, a freezer door hanging off its hinges, and towels, bedding, and mattresses that clearly had seen better days. This overall lack of maintenance was disappointing and gave a less than welcoming vibe to what should have been a relaxing getaway.

Despite the drawbacks, the location of the villa was one of its strongest points. It was situated conveniently, making it easy for our party of nine to explore the beautiful surroundings of Albufeira. Ample space allowed us to spread out, making our stay relatively comfortable; however, any minor comfort was overshadowed by a significant issue with the keys. The villa only provided one key for the entire group, which we initially thought was manageable due to a key safe. However, the arrangement quickly turned problematic because we discovered we needed that single key to both enter and exit the property. This situation became particularly inconvenient when we found ourselves locked inside the gates of the villa after returning late at night, necessitating waking other members of our party in the middle of the night to let us back in.

The most alarming aspect of the key situation has led us to reconsider whether we would book this villa again, especially if an emergency were to arise and we all needed to leave quickly. Overall, while there were definitely positive aspects, such as the spaciousness and location, the lack of proper facilities and the ill-thought-out key system significantly marred our stay in Albufeira. Our experience serves as a reminder that while a location might be ideal, the functionality and comfort of accommodations can make or break a holiday.
